If you had a penny for every beauty tip you have read through blogs, magazine posts and various other sources you would be richer than Croesus. There are very few of them that are truly practical and applicable to everyone even though the word tip implies a generalized use. Here’s a list that actually works especially for the woman of today, whether housewife or career woman, with a busy lifestyle and very little personal time to devote to looking good.
- Easy-fix blow dry
If you haven’t tried dry shampoo its time you went out and picked a brand. A quick 5-minute blow dry using a round brush (the big one) after a dry shampoo will give your dead roots an instant lift. This tip works on 1-3 day old hair and in all weathers.
- Eye liner pencils
These are much easier to use than their liquid pen or brush tipped counterparts but have an unfortunate tendency to crumble when applying, especially when in a hurry. Placing them in the freezer for 2 minutes before use will stop this from happening and make them easier to apply.
- Eye brows and dark circles
Arched brows highlight dark circles under the eyes because the two dark shapes together make big circular shapes on your face. A more straight-lined brow shape can help to hide dark circles under the eyes.
- Avoid close shaves
It may seem easier and faster to shave in the opposite direction of hair growth especially when you have a tendency for in-grown hair but this actually increases the number of in-grown hair! A closer shave makes it easy for skin to grow over the hair follicle. Put up with the in-grown hair for a few weeks and shave in the same direction as the hair growth. You will notice a gradual decrease in in-grown hair.
- Out of shaving cream?
Use conditioner instead of soap which will have a double drying effect on the skin after shaving. Conditioner will soften both hair and skin and leave you with a smooth, fresh feeling.
- Ice cubes fight wrinkles
- Shortest make-up regime
If you literally have less than 30 seconds to get out of the house the only two makeup items you should be looking for are a mascara and neutral lipstick/gloss. The mascara will make your eyes pop open and the lip gloss will give you a finished look.
