Tips To Help Make Your Wedding Morning As Seamless As Possible!

If your big day is getting nearer, it’s time to start preparing for the wedding morning! You want the experience to be as seamless as possible so you can just enjoy it with your friends and family, and with a few tips and tricks, you can make it happen.

Get Everything Booked Months In Advance

Our first tip is to get everything booked as far in advance as possible. You should get your hair and makeup booked in as a priority when you’re planning, as the most reliable and the best hair and makeup artists will get booked up quickly. You want to feel your best on the day and have no concerns about how your hair and makeup will turn out, so get this sorted as soon as you can. Also make sure you have a trial with plenty of time before the big day, as this will also help with your peace of mind!

Have Health Checkups

In order to avoid any avoidable issues the morning of the wedding, we’d recommend having health checkups to make it all smooth on the day. For example, going to see your dentist Collingwood based or your eye doctor if you tend to get dry eyes will help to make sure you’re feeling your best on the day.

Set A Strict Time For Everyone To Arrive

Next up, you should set a strict time for everyone to arrive. Everyone who is having their hair and makeup done, from your bridesmaids to the mother of the bride or mother of the groom, should be there with plenty of time. You don’t have time to be waiting around for people to arrive and have empty hair and makeup chairs, so set a strict time. If you know people tend to be a bit late, tell them to come even earlier. This is your day and you don’t deserve to feel stressed, so be sure to highlight this and your loved ones should respect it!

Make Sure The Bride Doesn’t Go Last

When you’re getting ready, make sure that the bride doesn’t go last. Often there are unexpected delays on the wedding morning, and if you go last as the bride, it doesn’t give much time to have photos and enjoy the finishing touches like putting on your jewellery and getting into your dress. You may go 2nd to last or 3rd to last, but make sure that you’re not absolutely last! You should also prioritise making sure your maid of honour and mother of the bridge are ready early to help you into your dress and get in the photos.

Steam The Dresses The Night Before

You may think you’ll have loads of time the day of the wedding, but time absolutely flies, so you should do as much as you can the night before, including steaming all of the dresses. This just takes the stress away and makes sure everything is perfect. You should also get all of the shoes and jewellery ready, as well as perfume, as this is often something that people forget at the last minute!

Give Yourself An Hour Or Two Longer Than You Think

Another tip is to give yourself an hour or two longer than you think you’ll need. As much as you can plan, things happen that are out of your control, from something being forgotten to car trouble, so just make sure you plan how long you think you’ll need, then add an hour or two, depending on how far you are from the venue. If you’re ready early, you can simply relax and enjoy the build up with your loved ones. It’s better to be ready early than to feel rushed!

Don’t Forget To Eat

As much as you may not feel hungry the morning of the wedding with so much going on, it’s key that you don’t forget to eat. The last thing you want is to feel light headed, and you may not be eating until the afternoon or early evening, so you need to eat something! This could be a croissant and some fruit, some eggs or yoghurt and granola, or perhaps get some of your favourite asian food to have if you’re having an evening wedding, but whatever you eat, try to make it as substantial as possible so that feeling faint isn’t a concern. There’s a lot going on during the day and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, which can be exacerbated when you haven’t eaten!

Pack An Emergency Kit!

Next, you should put together an emergency wedding morning kit. You never know what to expect, so this just helps to get everything covered just in case! Make sure you pack a sewing kit, safety pins, a lint roller, fashion tape, a stain remover designed for white dresses, tissues, blotting papers, scissors, instant hemming tape, extra earring backs, tweezers, bandaids and bobby pins.

Pre-Pack Your Personal Bag

Many brides also forget to pre-pack their personal bag before the ceremony, so then they end up without their essentials throughout the day. So, get your bag ready with travel size makeup products, mints, hand sanitiser, tissues and anything else you want on hand. You should also pre-pack everything you need for the wedding day and evening as far in advance as possible, to give you time to get anything missing. The last thing you want is to desperately be looking for something in the days running up to the wedding that you’d forgotten about! Taking inspiration from online wedding lists will help you to get everything covered.

Have A Folder Of Vendor Details and Payments

It’s also important that you print off a list of the vendor details and payments prior to the big day. You want to have everything in one place and be really clear about what has already been paid for, which deposits have been paid and also anything that needs sorting on the big day. It would be worth making someone who you are getting ready with aware here, so the pressure is taken off you!

Get Your Bridesmaids Gifts Ready

Something else you should do in advance is get your bridesmaids gifts ready. Pack them all into a box and leave them in the car so they’re ready to go in the morning, then perhaps ask someone who’s not a bridesmaid to help lay them out when you arrive wherever you’re getting married.

Choose Your Pyjamas Wisely

Another thing that is important to prepare for the morning of the wedding is to plan your pyjamas wisely. You don’t want to wear pyjamas that you need to pull over your head as this could impact your hair and makeup. So, instead, you should wear button front pyjamas, or also get yourself a robe maybe. It’s also important that you don’t wear a bra the morning of the wedding, as the last thing you want is dodgy bra lines! You should also remember to take off any hair bobbles from your wrists, again when you’re in a rush this can be something that is missed!
