Trek to Rajmachi Point: Rajmachi is a very popular point. An ideal option for the amateur trekkers, it is about 75 km away from Pune. Udhewadi is the base camp and you have to start from Tungarli near Lonavala or Kondivade Village near Karjat. Both this town are so beautiful even if you fail to trek, there will be no regrets. It will take 4 to 5 hours to complete the trek. The moment you reach Rajmachi Point, the view of the surroundings will mesmerise you. The mountains wrapped in clouds and the lush green is a treat to the trekkers. You can experience this trek all year round, however, the monsoon is mostly preferred.

Sinhagad: another known place for the trek, Sinhagad is just 50 km away from Pune. The most preferred base is Karjat. It is a referred as an easy trekking route and it takes 2 hours to reach the top. The alluring Sinhagad portrays a different colour of nature from Rajmachi.

Raigad: The lush green mountain with the meandering paths and a historic fort embedded, Raigad is a fantastic tourist spot which offers a moderate difficulty level trek. Raigad is situated 50 km away from Pune and it was the capital of Maratha empire in 1674. Besides, being a trekking destination, it serves as a picnic spot. NH17 and NH4 routes are the starting points. It takes approximately 1 and a half hour to complete the trek.

Torna trek: Torna houses the best fort of Pune. Torna is 60 km away and Velhe is the base village. The spectacular view of the Sahyadri range is an image to capture. Once you reach the top, the Torna has a lot to discover. The difficulty level is medium and thus it is very popular. It takes about 3 and a half hour to reach the top. You can also plan a 2 day trip via Rajgad fort. Winter is the ideal time to explore Torna.

Shivneri, Lohgad, Visapur, etc. are also prominent for trekking near Pune. If you are not an expert better avoid monsoon. Though monsoon enhances the charm of the places. If you plan from Mumbai, it is a good idea to take cabs Mumbai to Pune and take a night halt in Pune. All these above-mentioned trek are easily accessible from Pune.
