The Audi India is assembling and selling many luxury cars in India. The R8 is one of their popular cars in their sports car line-up. The Audi brand is in direct competition with the BMW and the Mercedes Benz brands in the Indian market. The Audi R8 was launched in the international market in 2008. The R8 is coming to India as CBUs.

The Audi R8 comes in 4 petrol variants with automatic transmission. The variants are the V8 Coupe, the V10 Spyder, the V10 Plus and the V10 Coupe. This costliest Audi car in India comes with a price tag of Rupees 1.71 to 2.90 crore.

Stylish Exteriors

The R8 has an aerodynamic body best suited for sports cars. The exterior features at the front include LED head lights, big air dam, daytime running LED lamps, front grille with the Audi’s 4 circles and a sporty hood with company badge. Twin sporty doors, alloy wheels, LED tail lamps, body coloured door handles, an air dam below the tail lights and chrome lined exhaust pipes.

Comfortable Cabins

The cabin of the Audi R8 is loaded with lots of features. The standard safety features include 6 air bags, ABS, EBD, ESP, Traction control, Hill Hold control, an engine immobiliser and collapsible column. The comfort features of the base variant include an Automatic AC, power steering, rain sensing wipers, frontal power windows, electric ORVMs, an electric sun roof and a music system with GSP as option. The Spyder variant has rear parking sensor, rear wiper/defogger and button start additionally.

Engines and Performances

The R8 V8 coupe is powered by a 4163 cc petrol engine giving mileages of 8.06 kmpl. The V10 variants have 10 cylinder V engine with a volume of 5204 cc giving mileages of 9.8 kmpl. The transmission is through S-tronic 7 speed gear box. The V10 variant takes 3.6 sec and the V8 variant 7.51 sec for 0 to 100 kmph acceleration and the top speeds are 314 and 311 kmph respectively.

Ride Quality

The suspensions of the R8 are adaptive damper systems with individual selection of the settings. The damping force individually adjusted to make the ride comfortable. The brakes are ventilated discs on all the wheels. The wheels are R18 for the base and R19 for the top variants.
