If your dry and itchy scalp is troubling you then you have to get rid of this problem soon. Otherwise, it can lead to a lot of problems including redness of the scalp and dandruff. Having white flakes can be very embarrassing as it kinds on the shoulders and dresses pretty often.

One can use scalp anti dandruff shampoo to get rid of the dandruff problem. But one can also use a lot of home remedies to treat the dry scalp.

But the question is what exactly can lead to a dry scalp. If you know the reasons behind them, then one can try to prevent it. Dry scalp mainly happens when the oil glands in the scalp do not work properly. They are incapable of producing natural oils which leads to dry scalp. These may happen due to many reasons. It can be due to fungal infection, over exposure to hard water, excessive use of styling products, lack of nutrients in the body due to unhealthy diet and lack of oiling with conditioning treatments.

So, if one needs to get rid of dandruff problems, they first need to get rid of this dry scalp. So for that, one needs to do some modifications with their hair routine.

Tea Tree Shampoo

One needs to add a few drops of tea tree oil in their regular shampoo and shake the bottle well. Then use it as a regular shampoo to wash the hair. One can do this twice a week to get positive results. Tea tree oil has anti fungal properties which unclogs the pores so that natural oil production can happen.

Apple Cider Vinegar

In this case, one needs to take 2 to 3 apple cider vinegar and with a cotton ball, one has to apply it on the scalp and then massage it for 2 to 3 minutes. Leave it for 10 minutes and then wash it well with water. Vinegar is an astringent and so it can cleanse the scalp and rekindles the normal functioning of the oil glands. But yes, if one has sensitive skin then one needs to mix equal amount of water with the vinegar before applying it. This will make it a bit dilute.

 Oil

One can go for plain coconut oil, or for castor oil or Moroccan oil and warm it up a bit. Apply this on the scalp and massage it for 5 to 7 minutes. Keep the oil for at least an hour before you wash it well with a mild shampoo. One can also keep the oil overnight if they want. Hot oil treatment can always do wonders as it can hydrate the scalp easily by leaving a moisturising effect.

Juicing

Take half of a lemon and release its juice. Then scrub the lemon piece on the scalp well. Leave it for five minutes and then rinse the hair well with a shampoo.

One can use shampoo ketomac by mixing it with regular shampoo to treat the white flake problems. It can be used twice a week.
