Xiaomi and Leeco are two brands, which offer great value for money. They both have affordable mid-range phones with exciting features. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Leeco Le 1 were a great hit in Indian market. Today, we will compare Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro and Leeco Le 2, which are successors of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Leeco Le 1.
Design and Display:
XiaomiRedmi Note 3 Pro is a metallic device, which has the dimensions of 150 (H) x 76 (W) x 8.6 (T) mm and comes with a 5.5-inch display. It is heavier than Leeco Le 2 and weighs 164 grams. Even at the mid-range price, this device feels premium in the hands. It is available in three colours- gold, gray, and silver.
The display panels of both the devices are same with 5.5-inch full high definition display. Though, in hand, the display of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro feels much better. It has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with pixel density of 401ppi. Colours appear very natural. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro comes with IPS LCD display and is protected by a scratch resistant glass.
Leeco Le 2 also sports a metallic body with the dimensions of 151.1(H)x74.2(W)x7.5(T)mm. The weight of the device is 153 grams and comes in 4 brilliant colours; gold, grey and silver and rose gold.When you tap the screen, you hear a weird noise and thus display doesn’t feel premium.
As mentioned above, Leeco Le 2 also has a 5.5-inchFull High Definition display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It also has the same pixel density of 401 ppi, but Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro gives much better experience.
About physical appearance of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro, there is no physical home button but red capacitive keys at the bottom of the device. The back key is on the right and apps key on the left. There is 3.5 mmm headphone jack at the top of the device and next to it is the Infrared Blaster. On the left side is the dual SIM tray, there is no SD card slot in this phone. There is the usual power key and volume buttons on the right side. The back of the device is non-removable and has fingerprint sensor which is fast.
Leeco Le 2 also has no physical button, but invisible capacitive keys, which are backlit. The front of the device has an 8 MP front camera. There are power key and volume buttons on the right side of the device, and the left side has dual SIM tray. There is no SD card slot in this device as well. Similarly, the back of the device is non-removable and has a fingerprint sensor on the back. One feature that is either a boon or bane depends on you is the lack of 3.5mm jack, but it uses CDLA feature which gives great audio output. It uses USB type C adaptor for headphone. If you are a music junkie, you will love this, but if you listen to audios as a normal user, you will miss 3.5 mm Jack. Another thing to note is that you cannot charge your phone and listen to music simultaneously as you can either plug in the headphones or thecharger
Performance:
Both devices use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 MSM8956 chipset. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Prohas Hexa Core 1.8 GHz, Dual Core processor whereas Leeco Le 2has Octa Core 1.8 GHz, Quad Core processor. They both use the same GPU Adreno 510.Xiaomi has two variants 2 GB RAM and 3 GB RAM whereas Leeco has only 3 GB RAM. Both the devices give smooth performance.
Software:
None of the devices run on latest Android Nougat (7.0) Xiaomi runs on older Android Lollipop (5.0.1) with its own MIUI on top. Leeco runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with its own EUI software. It has very less preloaded apps.
Camera and Storage:
Both the devices have similar rear camera configurations with 16 MP primary camera and an aperture of 2.0 F. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro comes with CMOS image sensor whereas Leeco Le 2 comes with Back-illuminated Sensor. There is no optical image stabilization in either of the device. Leeco Le 2 takes video at 3840×2160 @ 30 fps whereas Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro takes video at 1920×1080 @ 30 fps
Leeco Le 2 has a better selfie camera with a resolution of 8 MP. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has a 5 MP selfie cameras.
Storage wise both the devices are disappointing as none of them hasexpandable storage. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro comes in two variants 16GB/32GB whereas Leeco Le 2 has the only 32GB variant.
Battery and Connectivity:
Battery wise Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro clearly wins the race with a 4000mAH battery. On the other hand, Leeco Le 2 has 3000mAH battery with fast charging which is missing in Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro.
Both are dual SIM devices with Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro supporting 4G in only one SIM and Leeco Le 2 supporting 4G in both Slots. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro also has FM radio.
The Verdict:
Both the devices are superb phones, but with no expandable memory. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro is slightly better than Leeco Le 2 because of the better battery and presence of 3.5mm headphone.
